Ways to Give

There are many ways to support The Peck School. Giving can be as simple as writing a check, making a gift in the form of securities, or requesting a matching gift from an employer. You may also choose to make The Peck School a beneficiary in your will or estate, and become a member of The Sutphen Society.

The Peck Fund runs from July 1 through June 30.

  • Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities can provide you with an income-tax charitable deduction and capital gains tax savings. You can make a gift of securities to Peck through electronic transfer. Our office will be happy to provide you or your broker with complete transfer instructions.

After authorizing the transfer, please provide us with the name of the stock, the number of shares sold, and your broker's name should we need to contact them. • Gifts in Kind

Gifts-in-Kind are tangible gifts of personal property, such as artwork, furnishings, books, historical collections, and equipment. Assets related to the educational mission of the school can be deducted for their full fair market value. Personal property unrelated to the school's mission can be deducted at the cost to the donor. For more information on Gifts-in-Kind, contact the Advancement Office 973-539-8660 ext. 113.
  • Planned Giving

Planned Giving is an effective and mutually beneficial way of giving to The Peck School. By making a planned gift, you assist Peck in its mission of providing an academically challenging and distinctive elementary education, while enjoying the benefits of capital gains tax savings, increased income, and income-tax savings. Most importantly, a planned gift maximizes your giving potential while ensuring your future financial security and that of your loved ones.

Anyone who notifies The Peck School of a planned gift becomes a member of The Sutphen Society and will be recognized accordingly in the Annual Report.
  • Capital Campaigns

Capital Campaigns support projects not otherwise funded by tuition. The Campaign for Peck, completed in June 2006, raised funds to build our Athletic Center and to expand our Upper School academic building, which includes the state-of-the-art Higgins Library. In January 2018, we were thrilled to launch The Peck Promise: The Campaign for Excellence Elevated. This $12 million initiative empowers Peck to build on the strong foundations of our campus and our traditions; to create space for innovation, inspiration, and ingenuity; and to elevate the enduring excellence of The Peck School.

As a community we benefit from the generosity of those who came before us and it is our obligation to give for the future. When these special projects arise, we ask members of the school community to participate with both an annual gift and a capital contribution. Once again, participation by every family is the key to success.

Giving Clubs

Gift Clubs are the cornerstone of annual giving. By supporting the school's mission so generously, gift club donors serve to inspire fellow members of the Peck community to maintain its tradition of excellence in elementary education in an increasingly competitive academic environment.

Our Leadership Donors in particular provide tremendous momentum with their exemplary support to Peck and its mission. Leadership Giving (gifts of $2,500 and above) lays the foundation for The Peck Fund’s overall success on a yearly basis.  Leadership Donors are invited each year to the Head of School’s Reception in celebration of their financial fidelity to Peck.
