"Peck's Got the Beat!" Sixth-Grade Music with the Cajón
If you had walked past Mr. Guerrero's sixth-grade music class a few weeks ago, you would have heard a beat and voices chanting "Peck's Got the Beat!"
That addictive beat was produced by a cajón, a box-shaped instrument native to Peru! In their classroom, the sixth-grade music class recreated a performance from an all-school assembly earlier that week. There were many smiles and dancing as they moved to the music.
