Applying to Peck

Thank you for considering Peck for your child's future!

Let's get started.

At Peck we pair academic preparation with character development to inspire your child with powerful learning experiences. By embedding consideration of others, service, and belonging in all that we do, we nurture children to grow into curious and disciplined learners who positively shape the world. By joining Peck, you are entering a vibrant, close-knit community that values belonging, inclusivity, and our hallmark Consideration of Others.

Our highly personalized Admissions process is meant to provide you with the time, tools, and support for you to make the best decision for your child—and for your family. We're here to help every step of the way!

If you feel Peck could be right for you, the first step is to schedule your Parent Visit. You can call our office at 973-539-8660 x 108, email Wanda Fiorini at wfiorini@peckschool.org, or use the link below to schedule online.

Please note that, while we accept applications year-round, we strongly encourage families to apply before January 15 for the following year as spaces fill up quickly!

What can I expect during Peck's Admissions Process?

Parent Meeting & Campus Tour

Typically 90-minutes long during the school day, these personalized visits with our Admissions Team are meant to give you a sense of Peck's culture, academic program, and the myriad opportunities that life at Peck brings to your child and your family. It's also time for us to get to know you and to learn about your child! After meeting with us, we'll tour campus—seeing classrooms in action, our family dining hall, playgrounds, athletic center, and more!

Most parents elect to visit without their child in order to maximize their ability to engage with teachers, staff, and other Peck community members.

Contact Wanda Fiorini to schedule your parent visit, or use the link above to schedule online.

Online Application

Our online application creates a secure digital file for your family that you can access at any time. Please note that there is a non-refundable application fee of $75.

All applicants, regardless of affiliation (such as alumni or a sibling of a current Peck student), must meet the admissions standards of the school.

If you are interested in applying for financial aid, you have the option to note this on your child's application. Peck allots financial aid awards based on need, not merit—and uses both the industry-standard TADS system (Tuition Aid Data Services), as well as a Peck request form to determine allocations.  You can learn more and find forms hereFinancial aid applications must be completed between November and January 15.

School Records & Teacher References

After you complete your online application, you will need to have your child’s current teacher(s)/school submit applicable references and records between late fall and February 1.

Student Visit

Student visits are opportunities for our teachers to get to know your child a bit better, and provide reflections on their experience at Peck. Kindergarten applicants participate in a small playgroup with other same-grade applicants and our kindergarten teachers. Grades 1-8 applicants are paired with a same-grade Peck student for a full day of classes in their current grade level. Students attending a Kindergarten playgroup or for a full day must complete a Visitor Health Form prior to their visit.

Student Assessment

Our goal in evaluating each applicant is to ensure a happy and successful placement within our academic program. With this goal in mind, we assess applicants in Grades K through 8 to look at both at the child’s present level of achievement and at their aptitude for future learning.

Kindergarten Screening (Nov. - Feb.): Screenings will be conducted one-on-one with a proctor on our campus.

Grades 1-2 Student Assessment: Screenings will be conducted one-on-one with a proctor on our campus.

Grades 3-8 Student Assessment: Applicants may complete either the At-Home Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) (Peck School code: 311703) or the Educational Records Bureau (ERB CTP).

Admissions Decision

Once your application process is complete, an Admissions Committee composed of teachers, administrators, and Admissions personnel review your family’s file and make an admissions decision. This typically occurs in February, and families are notified of their acceptance status during the first week of March.
