This year, The Peck School fielded two teams to enter the FIRST Lego League Robotics Qualifying Tournament held at Clifton High School in Clifton, NJ. Both of the Peck teams had impressive performances in the project and core values sections of the competition, with team Peck Pride winning the award for Core Values and scoring a perfect 100%.
FIRST Lego League looks to inspire the next generation to pursue science and technology careers through its competitions. At competitions, teams are judged in three areas: the project, which is a solution to a real-world problem, core values of teammates, and robot design and achievement in a robot game
FIRST Lego League asks students to practice:
Discovery - by exploring new skills and ideas
Innovation - by using creativity and persistence to solve problems
Impact - by applying what they learn to improve the world
Inclusion - by respecting each other and embracing our differences
Teamwork - by understanding we are stronger when we work together
Fun - by enjoying and celebrating what they do!
Peck Pride will be traveling to state competition on Dec. 8 and 9 at Mt. Olive High School to represent Peck for a second year. Congratulations to both teams on an exciting and fun-filled competition!
