Celebrating Lunar New Year in Second Grade

Second graders celebrated the Lunar New Year during a recent family share!
Students learned about the cultural significance of Lunar New Year, were introduced to traditional Chinese calligraphy, and learned how to write the character for "fortune." or Fú (福). They were delighted by the intricate strokes and delicate movements required to create the character and left the family share with a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Lunar New Year, and a newfound love for traditional Chinese calligraphy!

Family shares provide a valuable opportunity for families to showcase their cultural traditions and heritage to their classmates in the second grade!
