Upper School French Teacher Tyler Mosely applied her Ben Alexander grant towards riding the waves on the shores of France.
As Peck's resident Francophile, Mosely found an ideal place to explore a new physical challenge at Star Surf Camp in Moliets, France. The camp offers an international, multicultural, and immersive experience—both in language and in water—and prioritizes relationship-building and cultural exchange.
A surfing novice, Mosely is proud to note that she succeeded in catching her first wave, as well as making connections and immersing herself in the French language. When the camp ended, she went on a solo exursion through the French countryside, renting a car and visiting members of her adoptive family from a past exchange program. (And after 15 years apart from her French "brothers and sisters," she happily discovered that she assimilated right in, feeling like no time had passed at all!)
The Peck School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
