Outdoor Learning Spaces
In today's learning environment, nothing is better than the great outdoors. That’s why when developing our back-to-school plans, we knew it would be critical to foster and support our faculty’s ability to use our scenic 14-acre campus as a learning space.
We outfitted each student and faculty member with an outdoor camping chair to make moving the classroom outside quick and flexible. Additionally, five spaces were designated as official outdoor learning areas for teachers to reserve.
“The campus and new teaching spaces serve as a 'living laboratory' to stimulate student curiosity and discussion," said Lower School Science Teacher Dr. Kathy Kennedy. "It has been wonderful to authentically connect our lessons to the world around us."
