On May 17, Peck families, faculty, and staff came together for World Cultures Night—a decades-long Peck tradition that celebrates the rich diversity of cultures amongst our Peck community and around the world.
Students enjoyed nearly a dozen booths with crafts and projects that highlight a country or culture. Activities included making piñatas, enjoying the music of the mariachi band, taking in the sights of the cultural fashion show, community dances based on the music curriculum used throughout the year, and even henna tattoos!
Guests also tasted food from around the world during the potluck-style International Feast, watched a multicultural fashion show, and danced the night away with Summit Soundz.
The night was hosted by the Peck Parents Association's World Cultures Committee, in collaboration with Director of Community Connections & Belonging Cymone Williamson. The group also hosted two all-school assemblies earlier this year, one focused on the Philippines and the other on Romania.
“World Cultures Night is the culmination of our yearlong celebration of culture and it is such an important part of school culture to foster cultural competency and belonging among all of our students and families,” said Williamson.
