Peck Students Receive National Recognition in Math and World Languages

This spring, Peck students earned impressive national recognition across mathematics and world languages, showcasing both academic excellence and a deep commitment to intellectual curiosity, perseverance, and problem-solving.

In mathematics, Peck students competed in both the New Jersey Math League and the prestigious Math Olympiad competitions, earning top placements, team distinctions, and national honors. Most notably, fifth grader Aiden X. earned a perfect 25 out of 25 score on the Math Olympiad—the first perfect score achieved by a Peck student since the school began participating in the competition three years ago. His accomplishment earned him the prestigious Lenchner Medallion, awarded to students with perfect scores nationwide.

Peck’s Math Olympiad teams also earned significant team recognition, with the fifth-and-sixth-grade team finishing in the top 10% of its division and the seventh-and-eighth grade team placing in the top 20% nationally. Several students earned top 25%, top 10%, and top 2% distinctions, alongside medals and pins for outstanding individual performances.

“These results reflect not only exceptional mathematical ability, but also persistence, curiosity, and a willingness to tackle challenging problems,” said Math Department Chair Amy Papandreou. “We are incredibly proud of the way our students supported one another and rose to the occasion as teammates and thinkers.”

Peck students also delivered outstanding performances on the National French, Latin, and Spanish Exams, earning medals and honors across all three languages.

In Spanish alone, 29 seventh- and eighth-grade students earned national recognition on the 2026 National Spanish Exam, one of the largest academic competitions of its kind in the United States, with more than 83,000 students participating nationwide. The Peck School was also recognized nationally with a Perfect Score Distinction after seventh grader Anjali S. achieved a perfect score on the exam.

Additional honors were awarded in French and Latin, where students earned gold, silver, and honorable mention distinctions through nationally administered assessments that evaluate vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, translation, and cultural understanding.

“Language learning at Peck is about much more than memorization—it’s about curiosity, connection, and communication,” said World Languages Department Chair Adriana Sykora. “Seeing our students recognized at the national level is a wonderful reflection of their hard work, confidence, and growth as global learners.”

From perfect scores and national medals to top team finishes, Peck students demonstrated remarkable achievement across disciplines this spring, continuing a tradition of academic excellence that reaches far beyond the classroom.
