Peck InDeCoRe Council Officers Ban Together to Form Peck’s Own Justice League

At The Peck School, Kairos Day offers students a break from homework and screens, encouraging quality time with family and friends. The day is also an opportunity to reflect on the school's InDeCoRe values during the All-School Assembly. This year, the eighth-grade class introduced "justice" as their chosen grade’s year long value, with an engaging and creative twist.

To help younger students understand the importance of justice, eighth-grade Peck InDeCoRe Council Officers dressed as superheroes to form their own “Justice League,” who battle the everyday mishaps of middle school and prove that even heroes must face the trials of growing up. They acted out scenarios of everyday injustice—like taking too many snacks at recess or lying about unfinished homework—and invited audience participation to discuss how to handle these moments in the spirit of fairness. Through these interactive skits, students learned that justice is about standing up for what’s right and treating others with respect.

“This has been one of the most fun groups of PIC officers I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
They are creative, out-of-the-box thinkers who aren't afraid to take risks. Mrs. Boyle and I are very lucky to be working with them this year,” said PIC Advisor and Upper School Latin Teacher David Marshall.

This year’s Kairos Assembly was a fun, memorable way to promote community values and inspire students to uphold justice in their daily lives.
