Mrs. Wichman’s Sticker Project: Building Community Through Music Class

Mrs. Wichman’s Sticker Project: Building Community Through Music Class

In Peck's Lower School (Grades K-4), Music Teacher Lisa Wichman has introduced an exciting new tradition that beautifully reflects the collaborative spirit of the school. Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to earn stickers for a variety of achievements—whether it's leading an activity, singing a solo, or demonstrating exemplary collaborative behavior. These stickers aren't just personal rewards; they are part of a larger, community-driven project in her classroom!

Each earned sticker is carefully placed on a color-coded poster, with every contribution playing a part in revealing a grand image by the end of the year.

“This picture will symbolize the essence of what the Lower School Music program stands for: collaboration, teamwork, and shared creativity. The project is designed to remind students that their individual efforts contribute to something bigger—much like their role in the Peck community itself,” said Wichman.

Even faculty and staff joined in during opening meetings, reinforcing that this is a collective effort, showcasing the beauty of working together toward a common goal. Mrs. Whichman's sticker project not only enriches students' musical experiences but also fosters a deep sense of unity and belonging that will resonate throughout the school year.

Last year’s sticker poster hangs proudly in front of Mrs. Wichman's classroom: a photo of many helping hands holding up the earth with the words “We Rise by Lifting Others;” a familiar saying to the Peck community. We eagerly await to see what this year’s specially picked photo shows by the end of the year!
