After months of brainstorming and refining their ideas, eighth graders pitched their yearlong Capstone project ideas to a committee of faculty members and administrators. In Capstone Lab, students design an independent study project to complete in their final year at Peck.
These projects must align with the school’s core principles of rigorous academics, consideration of others, and community responsibility. Some of this year’s project pitches include a Peck social media apprenticeship, toys and bandanas to benefit dogs, and a World War II documentary. Through the pitch process, students hone their presentation and public speaking skills, all while building confidence in themselves and their ideas. Stay tuned for updates on the projects throughout the year and their final presentations in spring 2024.
