Championship Week: A Remarkable Finish to Peck’s Spring Sports Season

League championships. A county title. An undefeated season. School records. Historic firsts.

Over a whirlwind forty-eight hours, Peck student-athletes delivered one standout performance after another to close out one of the strongest spring seasons in recent memory. The excitement began on Monday, May 18, as boys lacrosse and track and field headed into their Middle School Athletic Conference (MSAC) Final Championships, with girls lacrosse making a historic debut in the Greater Morris County final. That championship energy carried right into day two, with baseball advancing to its first-ever MSAC final and girls lacrosse returning home to defend their MSAC conference crown.

“It’s been an incredible spring, and the results have been truly remarkable. But as we talk about all the time: results are just a byproduct. The real accomplishments are that the students approached each day with focus and intention. We’re proud of all of the students’ commitment to the hard work that led to such a memorable season,” said Peck Athletic Director Scott Dobbs.

Boys Lacrosse Claims the MSAC Title

On the heels of a spectacular semifinal victory over Montclair Kimberley Academy, boys lacrosse captured the program’s first league title in recent memory with a dominant win against Gill St. Bernard’s. Led by captain Nolan B. ’26, the team capped off a standout year defined by disciplined defense, balanced scoring, and steady teamwork.

A Historic Double-Championship for Girls Lacrosse

The definitive storyline of the week belonged to the undefeated girls lacrosse team, who pulled off an extraordinary feat by capturing two major championships in less than 24 hours.

The historic run began with their Monday evening county finals. Facing an early 3–0 deficit against Mendham Township, the Pride showcased their trademark resilience, rallying back to secure a thrilling victory and claim the program's first-ever Greater Morris County Championship.

With a county title secured, the girls returned home on Tuesday afternoon to defend their MSAC conference dominance. Playing with the same energy and smooth teamwork that defined their undefeated season, they defeated Far Hills Country Day to capture their third consecutive MSAC Championship. Eighth-grade captains Maggie D. ‘26, Norah C. ‘26, Eva Z. ‘26, and Reese L. ’26 guided this powerhouse squad through a flawless, two-title postseason campaign.

Baseball Battles in the MSAC Final

Baseball added to the week's historic milestones, advancing to its first-ever MSAC Championship game following a dominant semifinal victory that featured big hits from the team and a no-hitter from pitcher Hardy Lee.

Although the Pride fell to Pingry in their hard-fought final, they battled until the very last out. The team's relentless effort was highlighted by clean plays, sheer competitive grit, and a spectacular home run from Cole P. ‘26. Captains Alex L. ‘26, Hardy L. ‘26, and Evan H. ‘26 led a veteran group whose competitiveness set the tone for the entire program.

From first-time titles to record-setting performances, Peck student-athletes closed the spring with energy, determination, and school pride. It was a championship week that will be remembered for years to come.
