In a heartwarming and highly anticipated day at The Peck School, students from kindergarten and fourth grade left the uniforms at home, and arrived on campus wearing their favorite cozy jammies.
The occasion? A delightful Pajama Day that not only brought comfort and joy to the participants but also fostered a sense of camaraderie between the different grade levels.
Pajama Day is in honor of the kindergartners’ exploration into hibernation and cold-weather animals. And who better to help them celebrate than the leaders of the Lower School—their fourth-grade buddies?
Head of School Andy Delinksy (who also wore his pajamas!) read Red and Lulu by Matt Tavares to the students. Fourth graders then read their younger peers a book of their choice, while kindergarteners snuggled with their favorite plush toys from home. After a quiet morning of stories, buddies took to the playground where they enjoyed a special treat of bagels and hot chocolate!
Pajama Day at Peck was more than just a chance for these two grades to wear their comfiest sleepwear to school. It is an event that creates an environment where learning, friendship, and joy flourish. The bonds formed during Pajama Day are sure to leave lasting impressions on the hearts of both kindergartners and fourth graders alike, fostering a sense of unity and connection that will endure throughout their academic journeys.
