Gr. 8 Escape Room!
These past few weeks, eighth-grade Creative Computing students created a fun and interactive escape room experience for their peers, resulting in a magnificent escape room adventure
Students in this elective visited Trap Door Escape Room in Morristown earlier this year to learn about the inner workings of escape room design. The escape room program is in its second year, and this year's escape room theme was escaping a TV! Each room was themed after a different channel or show, starting with Shrek and Donkey and progressing to the golf channel, Spongebob Squarepants and a holiday movie, and finally being trapped in a game! Eighth-graders who created the escape room used a variety of technologies, including Arduino microprocessors, augmented reality cubes, green screens and video editing, and machine learning/AI to detect apples and a message in a bottle.
