Little Chicks: Field Hockey Clinics

Spring 2023, hosted by The Peck School

Clinic is open to all, regardless of enrollment at Peck!

Please note that space will be limited for all age groups to allow for players to receive ample individual attention. Clinics will take place outside; if there is inclement weather, the clinics will take place indoors.

Little Chicks with Sticks Field Hockey Clinics 

For students in PreK through entering Grade 3: This clinic is for both beginners and intermediate players who are interested in learning fundamentals and further developing their field hockey skills. Each week of the clinic will include a focus on essential stick skills, passing skills, and technical skills drills. Girls will learn the rules of how to play the game of field hockey, and will participate in daily games that reinforce that instruction. Players can expect to gain a great understanding of and love for the sport! Clinics will feature Peck alumni currently playing collegiate field hockey as guest coaches alongside Coach Delinsky!

Two clinics based on grade level will run for five Sundays this spring on the following dates:
  • April 16, 23, 30
    May 7 and 14

Times:

Pre-K - 3 clinic from 9 to 10 a.m.

Power Sticks Field Hockey Clinic

For students entering Grades 4 - 8: This clinic is to take players to the next level.  Each clinic will have 45 minutes dedicated to improving and focusing on a specific skill.  The second half of the clinic will focus on gameplay and implementing skills into gameplay. Players will receive individual feedback each week to help take their game to the next level while having lots of fun! Clinics will feature Peck alumni currently playing collegiate field hockey as guest coaches alongside Coach Delinsky!

Grades 4-8 clinic from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

  • About Julie Delinsky

    Over the last 12 years, Julie Delinsky has served as both the head coach and assistant head coach of several varsity and junior varsity girls’ field hockey teams at a number of private schools across the country: The Bullis School in Potomac, MD; the Oak Knoll School in Summit, NJ; and The Pingry School, in Basking Ridge, NJ.  While at Bullis from 2006-2013, she oversaw both the middle and high school programs, and led the school’s varsity team to the Independent School League (ISL) Championship for the first time in Bullis’ history.  That said, a true passion for Julie is working with, mentoring, and instilling a love for field hockey in young children. 

    A Peck parent herself, Julie is excited and eager to welcome any and all girls to join her and her team of experienced field hockey counselors in what is sure to be a clinic of new beginnings for some, skill introduction and refinement for others, and just plain fun for all!
