Supporting Your Child’s Academic, Social & Emotional Development
At Peck, we believe that children thrive when home and school partner together, sharing knowledge, building understanding, and supporting children through every stage. Our Parent Education Series (PEdS) offers families meaningful opportunities to learn, connect, and engage with each other, educators, and experts around a shared commitment: understanding your child’s academic, social, and emotional growth across K-8.
Through Curriculum & Coffee events, wellness programming, Upper School Student Success sessions, and Head of School coffees, the series offers practical tools and insight into what your children are experiencing every day. Together, we deepen our understanding of what children need right now, while building a strong foundation for who they are becoming.

October 8 & 14: Dr. Aliza Pressman
It Takes a Human to Raise a Good Human
This October, Peck invites parents to explore Dr. Aliza Pressman’s practical, research-based approach to parenting through two connected events: a book discussion of The 5 Principles of Parenting with Lower School Counselor Abbie Slatus, followed by an evening with Dr. Aliza Pressman, developmental psychologist, host of the award-winning Raising Good Humans podcast, and New York Times bestselling author.
The October 14 evening event with Dr. Pressman, It Takes A Human To Raise A Good Human, is free and open to the public.
Together, these events will explore Pressman’s five principles—Relationship, Reflection, Regulation, Rules, and Repair—and how they can help parents navigate the everyday work of raising resilient, emotionally healthy children. View flyer for dates and details, and join us for one event or both.
