The Arts
Drama

The voice, the body and the mind are the most fundamental tools of an actor. The seventh and eighth grade drama program endeavors to spark a student's interest and curiosity about theater and to develop his or her creative expression and self-confidence.

A series of theater games, improvisations, writing tools, and readers' theater introduce seventh graders to acting, improvisation, and character development. Seventh and eighth graders read several plays during the school year. Eighth graders study contemporary and classic scenes, and students direct a story theater unit. The culmination of the eighth grade drama experience is a play performance.
