The Arts
Studio Art

Beginning with fifth grade cave paintings in the style of Lascaux and culminating with eighth grade contemporary Pop art, Peck's Upper School students produce eons of art.

Peck's unique studio arts program incorporates the study of various artists and their work into student projects. The basic elements of design are introduced in lower school and are reinforced and expanded upon throughout the Upper School grades.

Following their history courses of study, fifth graders create masterpieces reflective of ancient Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilizations, while sixth graders explore art forms reminiscent of the Medieval and Renaissance periods.

Arts

Studies of Eastern cultures shape seventh graders' experiences in creating watercolors, kites and origami. A focus on U.S. History directs eighth graders to Impressionistic, Native American, Ash Can School, abstract expressionist, and Pop art.
